An Annotated Video Game Rebuilding Project

Inspired by his never ending
quest for profits,
in 1984 man perfects the operators:

A business species so ruthless that
man is repulsed by his own creation.

Guided by their infallible logic,
the operators conclude:

The classic games are inefficient,
and therefore must be destroyed.

You are the last hope of gamekind.

Due to a social engineering error,
you possess abnormal repair powers.

Your mission is to stop the conversions,
and save the last classic game.

This site describes the process of restoring a Robotron:2084 arcade game to as close to like-new condition as possible. The story is annotated with photos and links to sites featuring supplies or information useful to anyone considering a similar project.

Do-it-yourselfers may smile with recognition at some of my trials and tribulations. Anyway, I have tried to keep the story interesting. >>
