MEMBERSHIP POLICIES
NEW STUDENTS
New students who wish to train with T.A.B.C.A.T. Columbus may attend drop-in classes for up to one month without becoming official members. After that, they should be prepared to join the group in one of three membership categories: Quarterly, Monthly, or Drop-in.

All members of T.A.B.C.A.T. Columbus are entitled to come to all class sessions and participate in special events.

QUARTERLY & MONTHLY MEMBERSHIP
The QUARTERLY or Monthly membership plans offer a significant discount (see above). Students may become full members as early as their second class, to take advantage of these discounted plans. Students joining for the first time at mid-month or mid-quarter may be offered a prorated plan, if deemed appropriate. All quarterly and monthly members will be asked to wear a T.A.B.C.A.T. uniform by about the end of their first month of official membership (approximately $20).

DROP-IN MEMBERSHIP
The "Drop-in" membership plan is appropriate for students who have variable schedules and finances, but want to continue training as time and money allows. "Drop-in" members must nevertheless wear their T.A.B.C.A.T. uniform by as soon as it is made available.

FORMER STUDENTS
Former students of T.A.B.C.A.T. Columbus who wish to return to the group or who plan to visit the group occasionally are still considered "drop-in" members, and are thus asked to know and respect all the updated rules of the group (ask for clarification if necessary).

Former students who wish to participate in public performances or rodas are welcome to do so if they are "open" events (e.g., open street rodas versus formal stage performances). Unless specified, such students are not required to wear their T.A.B.C.A.T. uniform but they are asked to wear clothing appropriate for playing capoeira.

EXCEPTIONS
Other payment alternatives (such as "sliding scale" or prorated periods) may be discussed with the instructor.

Students officially representing other groups, or who will only be visiting Columbus for a short period of time, may be exempted from these membership requirements as deemed necessary.
